About Me
Thanks for being interested in Mindful Tai Ji. I am Holly Chen. I learned a simplified Tai Ji form (24 steps Wu style) 30 years ago when I was in colleague in China. At that time, I was too young to really appreciate the beauty of it.
My deep appreciation of Tai Ji and internal Chinese martial arts started 10 years ago in Chancellorsville Virginia. By accident, I got an opportunity to attend a Tai Ji (chi) workshop given by master Wang Fulai (王福来)from Taiwan. Master Wang Fulai had been a student of a well-known Chinese internal martial art master Wang Shujin (王树金) since he was a teenager. His broad knowledge and deep understanding of Tai Ji (chi) and internal Chinese martial workshops impressed me deeply. I was drawn to Tai Ji (chi) again.
Since then, I have attended his workshop twice a year, taken internal Chinese martial art classes for at least 2-3 hours a week. So far, I have learned Tai Ji (chi), Xing Yi, and Ba Gua. The more I learn, the more I am impressed by the sophistication, usefulness, and beauty of internal Chinese martial art. I am healthier, happier, more balanced, and flexible. My energy level is higher and my mind is sharper.
I believe that Tai Ji (chi) and Qi Gong are great treasures for all people. As a practitioner and someone who has been enjoying the benefit of practicing Tai Ji regularly, I would like to share the benefits with you; to help you to learn and start to enjoy the health benefits as well.
