Brief Introduction of Qigong Class

Qigong practice typically involves stationary meditation and moving meditation, coordinating slow-flowing movement, deep rhythmic breathing, and a calm meditative state of mind. People practice qigong throughout China and worldwide for recreation, exercise, relaxation, preventive medicine, self-healing, alternative medicine, meditation, self-cultivation, and training for martial arts.

A Qigong class consists of 3-4 segments. in the class, you will learn some basic deep breathing techniques, stationary Qigong, or Zhan Zhuang, and Qigong forms, such as Ba Duan Jin.

Compare to Tai Ji, movements in Qigong are limited and repeated. If you are new to Tai Ji, starting from Qigong would be a  better choice. It will make your learning curve smoother. If you have knee problems or have difficulty standing, taking a Qigong class is definitely better for you. You can learn Qigong when sitting.

You can learn Qigong by taking a Qigong class or a private lesson either at Ivy Rehab Fitness or online.
